Artist Statement
I am a mixed media painter and jewelry designer. I find that my inspiration in my art practice comes from traveling and exploring themes of the natural world. I love to travel, especially to new places. I will oftentimes be seen with a camera exploring the different landscapes and culture of a place. When I come home from traveling, I always feel a sense of renewed inspiration of wanting to paint new observations from photography. While my paintings and jewelry are separate strands within my arts practice, I will oftentimes incorporate beads within my paintings as a way of exploring new textures and adding my own creative touch to my observations, while some other works are considered more traditional landscape paintings. In my work, I also use many patterns and bright colors.
